Bugsworth Canal Basin is at the head of navigation of the Peak Forest Canal and is today a popular place to visit.

It was the largest and busiest inland port on Britain’s narrow canal system and is the only one to survive intact today. The canal basin has been restored in recent years and there are information boards at points of interest telling the story of life as it was when the basin was a working port
