Bingley Five Rise Locks are one of the most awesome features on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal. They are the steepest staircase locks on the longest canal in the country! A staircase lock differs to other locks in a group together, in that the boat leaving one lock moves straight into the next without a pound of water in between.

The Bingley 5 rise is quite a sight and fascinating to watch in operation. Probably why they are one of our Seven wonders of the waterways. They are simple to operate once the boater has worked out just where the levels of water need to be in order to move from one lock to another, so in order to ensure a safe passage through the locks, a lock keeper in employed full time on the flight.

Every piece we create tells a story and fades into white, leaving the viewer with the impression of a world outside the scene, and a story yet to be told. In fact every piece comes to you with a story about it with an accompanying card with your wall art or on the reverse of the greetings card.

Each print takes many hours to produce, using layers, masks, overlay, textures and creative techniques to produce a fine art piece you will be proud to have in your home. We do not use automated processes of any sort.
